Cuales son las festividades que no podemos evitar en nuestra escapada a la ciudad de los canales.
En febrero se celebra uno de los carnavales más pomposos del mundo, nada tiene que ver con los de Brasil o los del Caribe, pero resulta un espectáculo realmente digno de ver.
La Fiesta de San Marco, una regata de góndolas en honor al patrón de la ciudad que se celebra a finales de abril y la competición va desde Sant´Elena hasta Punta della Dogano.
El carnaval de Venecia está repleto de disfraces de época
Un mes después se celebra La Sensa, una recreación de la ceremonia del matrimonio con el mar que en sus orígenes era interpretada por el Dux Pietro Orseolo, que navegó la laguna y lanzó un anillo de oro al mar. Asimismo en mayo se celebra también la Vogalonga, una regata de barcos de 32km de distancia que va desde la Plaza San Marco hasta la isla de Burano y donde compiten multitud de tipos diferentes de embarcaciones de remo sin importar el número de éstos.
En junio se celebra el Palio delle Antiche Repubbliche Marinare, donde cuatro equipos ataviados con trajes tradicionales luchan en las aguas de la laguna de Venecia.
En julio podremos asistir a la Festa del Redentore, donde los venecianos celebran su rescate de la terrible plaga que asoló la ciudad en 1526 con un pontón de barcos, fuegos artificiales y picnics en el agua.
El Festival de Cine de Venecia no podía faltar en esta lista, uno de los más importantes del mundo que se celebra en agosto/septiembre en el Palazzo del Cinema.
La Regata Histórica es otra de las celebraciones más populares de la ciudad donde una gran procesión de embarcaciones históricas recorre el Gran Canal y posteriormente se celebra una regata donde los mejores gondoleros de la ciudad compiten entre sí.
En octubre se celebra la Maratón de Venecia, en noviembre la Festa di San Martino donde los niños recorren las calles disfrazados.
