Carcassonne - France

Carcassonne is the capital of the Aude in the Languedoc-Roussillon (France). Its walled city in 1997 was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco.

Located halfway between Perpignan and Toulouse, southern France.

Around the year 800 a. C. The city, situated on a hill, became an important center of trade.

Carcassonne became strategically important from the point at which the Romans fortified the hilltop around 100 years a. C. and became the administrative center of the colony Iulia Case, later named as Carcasum and Carcass. Most of the northern ramparts are of that era.

Carcassonne is famous for his role in the crusade against the Albigenses, where the city was a stronghold of the Cathars. In August 1209, the army of the crusaders of Simon de Montfort forced the surrender of the city after a siege of fifteen days. Taken as a prisoner Ramon-Roger Trencavel and became the new viscount. Expanded the fortifications and Carcassonne became a border citadel between France and the Crown of Aragon. In the year 1213, the battle of Muret, won by Simon de Montfort against King Pedro II of Aragon, was the prelude to the domination of the kings of France on Occitania.

Yatchs - Port Forum - Barcelona - Spain / Yates

A vela.

LBP Length Between Perpendiculars.
LOA Length Over All.

A yacht (Dutch Jacht) is a recreational craft, ie, for recreational use and enjoyment only, built with the principle of Archimedes to remain at the water's surface. Its propulsion can be:

A motor with one or more outboard engines or can be integrated into the hull of the ship.
A candle.
Actually, the term yacht applies to any recreational craft, but is used specifically to refer to recreational craft in most categories. Ie those of greater length, greater potential sports (sailing cruises), or greater benefits in terms of cars, tires, and accessories.
The length is the size of a ship taken over her from bow to stern ...

This distance is measured parallel to the water line design, between two planes perpendicular to line corridor, a plane passing through the most outgoing astern of the vessel and the other by the most outbound bow of the boat.

It includes all the structural parts or integrated as PROAS or popas, bulwarks and hull to deck joints. Excluding the bow pulpit, in which case the reference plane passing through the intersection point of the cover with the stem. It also excludes all removable parts that can not be so destructive and without affecting the structural integrity of the vessel.

The theory distinguishes between the ship:

Waterline length is the length of the longitudinal axis of the float plane considered. LWL Length Water Line.
Length between perpendiculars is the distance between the perpendicular (PRP) and the aft perpendicular (PPP). Length Between Perpendiculars LBP.
Maximum length is the distance between the perpendicular to the waterline maximum set by the most salient points in the bow and stern,
Overall length is made between the two most extreme points of the ship. LOA Length Over All.

Engine Anchor - Port Forum - Barcelona - Spain

An anchor or anchor is a nautical instrument that allows a boat to fix its position in the sea without having to worry about the flow, opposing the force of the tide.

Anchor The anchor usually consists of two or more hooks that are responsible for it cling to the seafloor, preventing the boat could be dragged into the drift. Small vessels have only one, which is tied to the boat by a rope or chain, depending on the length and regulations. The bigger boats often have three, one in the stern and two at the bow, attached by chains. Heavier anchors can reach three tons. In one hundred thousand tons of oil, chippings anchors weigh thirteen to fifteen tons, and the higher carrying more than twenty tons.

Wedding

Boda

More propitious time for marriage:
In the Middle Ages sought to marry the girl the night of the full moon because they thought they would be blessed with economic abundance and fertility.

Monday was considered a good day to get married, because since pre-Roman Europe on Monday was the day of the Moon, the mother goddess. That tradition then take the Romans.

The adage "on Tuesday or you do not marry shipments (in some places" on Tuesday or will you marry or shipping, or you away from your house ") comes from ancient Rome. Mars was the god of war, so the Romans thought that on Tuesday (the day dedicated to the god) was a day for misfortune, disaster and blood. So, to have a peaceful coexistence is married and a travel ban on Tuesday.

Friday was the day dedicated to Venus, the goddess of beauty and love. She would love that the bride and groom were durable.

Sunday was a blessed day in the pre-Roman Europe, because the day was devoted to the god the Romans called it Sol domínicum, Dominica, sir, 'domineering', god). It was supposed that the Sun God derramaría health, happiness and abundance on the spouses.

Not be married in January (when a lot of cold and famine in Europe), which would have limited economic and all the rest of his life. This superstition is based on the belief that the time that it generates a project affects its development.
